In the genes?

Good to know you're gone but never forgotten! Here is the delightful Shannon - called into the Barney house to say g'day, stopped for a lamb roast dinner, and - oh, hang on, count those drinks!!! - proves to be a little more like her mother than even she realises!
Yes, count 'em; that's a cup of tea, a glass of cordial and a glass of red wine. "I don't know which one to pick up first!" she proclaims before tucking in.
Dyl most affronted at his dishwashing duty for the holidays - way to go, Nana! He was quick to point out, though, that you probably would lay claim to cooking our roast tonight - even from Berri!!!
Love you and miss you - we all can't wait to see you soon!

Surer than sunshine
In grey skied Mount Gambier, surer than sunshine is the Annual Show. This year it rained again in fine fashion; sideshow alley had to have truckloads of pine chips put down before it could be opened due to the mud! But that didn't deter some of us from going along and wasting a BUCKET of money. One such attendee was young Imogen, who found a furry friend in the animal nursery. She also went on the Dragon ride (a mini roller coaster) and the fabulous jumping castle with enormous slippery dip! Skipping the toy showbags ("I don't like any of those, I'll just get lollies," she very wisely declared), we came home with armfuls of chocolate and lollipops in a record time of 2 hours!

Dyl and Dad weren't spared, with showbags and mettwurst being purchased in their respective absences!
The wisdom stretched well beyond Imogen's showbag choices, though. Dylan decided to forego the show, not wanting to waste his money, which he is squirrelling away for a new bike. Mum promised him $20 for making such a grown up decision, and he continues to work away earning some money. Naturally, the kid has his sites on a bike much more expensive than the one he lost; negotiations with parents are yet to be resolved.
Dylan wanted this photo to be accompanied by a witty caption about Nana and dishes, but was gently reminded that Christmas is coming very soon!
